Proofing and File Checking

At Hayter printing we give quality and accuracy top priority and stand ready to partner with you to produce the best quality printed piece possible. It is the policy of Hayter Printing to require a proof approval for any new files or changes to old files. We offer two proof options:

PDF Proof

You will be sent a proof via email. Please keep in mind that this is only a proof for content and positioning; the color on your screen may vary from the color of your final product, depending on your monitor and viewing conditions.

Hard Copy Proof

The Hard Copy Proof can either be picked up on-site or shipped to you. Please keep in mind that this is a proof for content and positioning and is not printed on your actual job stock. Color may vary slightly when printed on the stock you ordered.

File Check

If our prepress department sees anything questionable with your file, we will contact you via email with our concerns so you can upload a corrected file. Should prepress email you, please note that your job is not considered fully submitted until you respond to this email. This should be factored into your turnaround time. The charge for us to review your file when first submitted is included in the price of your order. If subsequent uploads still contain errors or we have to fix your file, an additional prepress fee may be charged.

Responsibility

Accuracy of the final printed product is the customer’s responsibility. It is therefore very important to inspect your proofs carefully. Please pay detailed attention to:

Typesetting and Spelling
Fold lines and finished composition
Phone Numbers and Addresses
Page Positioning and Order
Fonts, boldness and clarity of type

You may respond to your proof with one of the following replies:

OK to Print
OK with Changes (please list changes)
Another Proof Requested

Changes are billed at Hayter Printings standard design rates according to time required. Hayter may require a final proof if changes are complex or detailed.

Proof Terms

Customer’s agreement and approval constitutes the TOTAL and FINAL APPROVAL to print the job as it appears on the proof. Hayter Printing makes every effort to eliminate mistakes in our prepress process, but oversights and omissions do occur. You have the FINAL RESPONSIBILITY for review to ensure that there are no errors. What you see on the proof is what you will receive when your job is printed. The cost of printing and modifications for reprints required to amend, correct, or alter the content of your final proof will be charged to you.
